Dollar General fined again by OSHA
Since 2017, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined Dollar General over $9.6 million in penalties for exposing their employees to hazardous working conditions in violation of the law. In the article “ OSHA Fines Dollar General Again for Ignoring Workplace Hazards” written by Steve Hallo, there are Locations in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia that are repeating violations according to an inspection that occurred in April of 2022. According to OSHA, the violations are exposing the Dollar General employees to bring struck by objects, slips, trips, and the retailer is being fined for entrapment hazards. The hazards come from the neglect of keeping an exit path clear and unobstructed. Not only these three states, but OSHA has found multiple violations in the Dollar General stores in other states across the country during the past year, all located within the Southeastern United States. OSHA is there to ensure employee and workplace safety. These inspections and violations are in place to ensure that there are no workplace incidents. If your company is subject to an inspection, it is meant to be taken seriously.
